F.A.Q.
OPEN, TRANSPARENT, CARING
Soaring Capital’s investment approach is principally focused on long term investing. We strive to make the complex world of investing understandable and endeavor to provide peace of mind to our Clients. We strive to choose the best investments that can provide the best alpha for a given opportunity. We think like owners and we evaluate each investment as if it were our own. We believe that there are always investment opportunities to uncover. We care about price and we care about cost. A great company purchased at the wrong price (valuation) is a bad investment. We believe in sourcing investments worldwide. We believe that over time markets are efficient however we also believe that over short periods of time markets can become inefficient.
Soaring Capital provides institutionally rigorous, quantitative, and evidenced based investment management using techniques, methods, processes and knowledge learned from many decades and broad multi-asset class experience in equities, fixed income, options and hedging techniques.
Soaring Capital believes in primarily taking a long-term approach to investing. Where possible, we strive to construct portfolios using low cost investments to capture market exposure or market beta. We also believe that there are certain markets and assets classes that cannot be obtained via exchange listed investments therefore, if appropriate and the client is qualified, we will recommend allocations to private investments including private equity, hedge funds, loans, private debt/credit, venture capital, real estate, direct deal and other such opportunities.
Clients of Soaring Capital Management execute an Investment Advisory Agreement. This agreement authorizes Soaring Capital to make discretionary investment decisions on behalf of the client. This authorization does not allow Soaring Capital to withdrawal funds (except for the collection of our fees). The investment assets remain in the client’s name are held at the chosen custodian (i.e Charles Schwab, T.D. Ameritrade, Interactive Brokers).
Soaring Capital charges fees based on assets under advisement. Our fees are as follows:
- First $1 million – 1.25% per annum
- Next $2 million – 1.00% per annum
- Next $2 million – 0.75% per annum
- Next $5 million – 0.50% per annum
- Over $10 million – 0.40% per annum
Soaring Capital is an independent registered investment advisor and is regulated by FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). We are bound to the fiduciary standard of care which is the highest standard of care in the industry. This means that we are obligated by law to do what is best for the client and to put the clients interest ahead of our own. This is different from the suitability fiduciary standard for broker dealer advisors. The suitability standards allows for the payment of commissions to push products that are not always in the best interest of the client.
It is important to note that we also operate under the CFA Institute Code of Standards and Ethics and best practices.
